About

About

The focus of all 4-H programs is the development of youth as individuals and as responsible and productive citizens. The Morris Marksmen Sports Program stands out as an example. Youth learn marksmanship, the safe and responsible use of firearms, the principles of hunting and archery, and much more. The activities of this program and the support of caring adult leaders provide young people with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth, and conservation ethics.

Disciplines

Our club works in several disciplines, starting with Archery and Air Rifle for all members. We also do Shotgun and .22lr with our senior members and junior members as they're ready. We conduct Air Rifle indoors year-round and Archery indoors in the winter. Archery, Shotgun, and .22 are outdoors, weather permitting.

Members

Morris Marksmen is open to all youth ages 11 to 19. Each year, 4-H teaches a shooting sport to about 500,000 boys and girls. Shooting sports can be gratifying for members and their families. Our program provides a supportive environment in which young people can experience hands-on, fun learning experiences.

Volunteers

Our club is entirely run by member parent volunteers. It is necessary for the survival of the club that incoming parents get involved by becoming a volunteer, being an instructor, and helping with club responsibilities.

All instructors are trained by state instructors certified to teach courses. Adult volunteers receive training in shooting sports at state and regional workshops to become qualified instructors. 4-H teen leaders may wish to assist with instruction. Shooting sports leaders act as role models and must impart the 4-H philosophy and youth development objectives to 4-H members.

Meeting Places

We meet in Randolph for business meeting and indoor shoots in Randolph and out door shoots in Chester. We meet on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons, with about 4 meets per month. We do a mix of disciplines with different goals throughout the year as the club progresses through experience. Competitions and "fun-shoots" will be held at various facilities during the year

Donations
